Wednesday September 10, 2008, Brandy and I went into our first horse show ever at the Wellesley fair with 7 others from Second Chance Farm. We did a couple of halter classes. This was the pony class. We came in first...way to go Brandy. He actually trotted very nice beside me...

With the winning ribbon....

Then we did our second ever parade. Old pro at that one. It went through the main street of Wellesley starting at the school and ending at the community center.

Then mentally preparing for the Horse Saddle Class.
A display of our trot when we should have been cantering. But since I've never cantered on Brandy, I didn't think with 10 other horses around bucking and rearing that this was a good time to try. Especially considering the fact his ears were pinned back to his head. Others (not from our farm) had no control over their horses and it caused a bit of problem in the group.
Second Chance Farm took 1st, 2nd with me and Brandy coming in 3rd. How did that happen when we didn't canter?? We're assuming because I looked professional and I did have control of my ride. The other winners did great with the class.
Friday September 12, 2008, Dad, Grace, Sheri, Eizik and Lizzbeth came to the farm to meet my horses. I took Eizik for his first pony ride. He was great about it. But wasn't interested in getting on by himself.
A proud moment for me to have Eizik on the back of Brandy. Those from the farm know its been the hard work, time devotion, persistence and love that has made Brandy the gentle pony he is today. Brandy was awesome about everything we did.
Then my sister....got back on a horse for the first time in many many years... Way to go Sheri...looking pretty awesome for having a baby 2 months ago...And she rode Brandy all on her own without me leading. It was a fun day to have my family be part of something I love so much. Thanks for coming out!!
