I've been working with my new horse, Hemi, who has settled in quite nicely. He's been vet checked and is a pretty healthy horse. He's had his feet trimmed and his teeth filed. He had an impacted tooth that had to come out as well. He has some worms that he's being treated for. He's been gaining weight and is really responding well to the training I've been doing with him. I have him booked for August 6th to have surgery to repair the Stringhalt which causes his back leg to act like an elastic band. The veterinary surgeon is quite positive that the condition is totally repairable and Hemi can have a normal life. I'm thinking about using him for dressage. He is really a beautiful boy and has such a great personality. I love him already.
I spent a couple days with my sister and her kids in Woodstock. What a busy family. Don't know how my sister does it every day.

This is sweet little LizzyBeth.

I also went to a Hair and Then Puppy Party. The staff got together with their dogs and had a nice afternoon of puppy playing. This is Oscar who I will be pet sitting for Anabela for 2 weeks in August while she is in Portugal with her family. He is a very sweet boy. I brought him home for the night last Saturday and he did pretty good for being in a strange house with strange people. Looking forward to having him around. Although after 2 weeks of having a dog around, I'm sure it will be hard to let him go and not get a dog of our own. But, I have to be strong....I just rescued a horse...don't need a puppy too......
And then to top off the month. I've booked a trip to Cuba for November. I'm going with the girls that I met while in Cuba. Having a girls week trip. So excited to go back. We are going to the same resort. There are 5 of us in total going. What a hoot it will be.
